Dakota Kipling - Half-Faerie - Rooney Mara
Originally from NYC, Dakota had a troubled upbringing. She grew up with her single mother, without the slightest clue who her father was. Her mother had more important things to do than take care of her child, such as get drunk every day. Dakota got involved in criminal activity, and in no time, she started selling drugs. When she was twenty-three, she was being targeted by the cops, so she made her way out of NYC and to Rosewood. She keeps her activities on the low, but can be seen in the park quite often. Is often incredibly rude, sarcastic and has an ulterior motive for everything she does.
Dr. Julia Byron - Werewolf - Olivia Wilde
Julia was born a werewolf in Syracuse, New York. She grew up with an intense love of animals, and when she headed to NYU, she majored in veterinarian sciences. In 2008, she had moved to Rosewood to work at their particular veterinarian office. On occasion, Julia will also see other werewolves, since their medical problems aren’t quite human. She’s an upbeat person with a helpful streak, but doesn’t take bullshit easily.
Mercedes Pasini - Vampire - Raven Riley
Mercedes had a good life. She had a palatial apartment in NYC, a charge card that was never maxed out and in her opinion, the sexiest boyfriend in all of Manhattan. What Mercedes didn’t know was that her boyfriend was a part of the Mob and that good life she had was a result of that. She had no clue until the night she was kidnapped from her apartment and taken to an undisclosed warehouse in Jersey City. She had been abducted by a rival mob that had happened to comprise of vampires. She was to be held hostage, until they had gotten what they wanted, which was a huge sum of money and prime turf in NYC. Her boyfriend wasn’t as loyal as she thought he was, and he had abandoned her in the name of his mob. The mob that had kidnapped Mercedes were planning on killing her but they had thought of a perfect revenge. They turned Mercedes and let her wreck vengeance on her boyfriend. Mercedes was all too willing to help. She tracked him down and finished him off. The problem that had came with it, was that it also put the dead boyfriend’s mob on her tracks. Because of this, she made her way out of NYC and keeps a low profile in Rosewood. Mercedes loves to have a good time, and can be considered a bit on the bitchy side. Has a spoiled princess complex. Refuses to go into NYC.
Kim Valentine - Vampire - Victoria Asher
Kim was born and raised in NYC and lived a colorful life, that was until she had became a vampire in 1992. It had happened one night, when she was walking home from a club. She was heading to get on the subway and she was jumped by a vampire. The vampire decided to take “pity” and had turned her, and not bothered to help her through any of it. After she figured out what she was, she quietly made her way out of NYC and moved to Rosewood.
Currently, Kim works at Opening Act as a bartender. She has also taken in London Sweet, who she had found one night, coming home from a hunt. She’s not quite sure what to think of her, but Kim couldn’t just leave her to her own devices.
Kim is colorful and quirky. She has her own mind about things, and has an assortment of intriguing interests. She can be quite snarky and sassy if the opportunity arises.
Janet Sheppard - Human - Jane Lynch
Janet is a Rosewood native and has lived here the entire duration of her life. She married out of high school and took night classes to get her degree in accounting. She also had two children, one boy and one girl. When was thirty, she finally got a decent paying job as an accountant at the orchard, but the marriage didn’t work out. A year later, she was divorced and raising two kids on her own.
Janet was a deeply supportive and loving mother, but when her kids had become adults, things changed. Her kids seemed to go missing, and Janet was worried that it was drugs. The more distance her kids put between her and them, the more she became like Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. She soon learned the truth. It wasn’t drugs, her daughter had became a vampire and her son a Seelie faerie. Janet was confused at first, but she accepted it like anything else.
Janet still works as the accountant at the orchard, and her kids are currently out of town. Because of her kids, Janet does know quite a few of the supernaturals in town and calls a good handful friends.
Janet is blunt and truthful, and hates when she feels someone is avoiding her or lying to her. If the truth isn’t out in the open, she will hunt it down. She does have a great sense of humor and a unique view of the world. She sometimes comes across as the over-excited PFLAG mom: supernatural edition.
